FIA summon McLaren. The repercussions

So, McLaren has been summoned by the FIA to appear before an 'extraordinary meeting' of the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on July 26 (read news story).
The charge? That it had unauthorised possession of intellectual property from rival Ferrari.
This could turn the championship on its head.
At Silverstone last week, an emotional Ron Dennis stated categorically that his McLaren has never used the intellectual property from another outfit on its cars, "nor will there be, nor has there ever been".
If the FIA has found evidence to suggest the opposite - and let's not forget that it has carried out a detailed examination of both Hamilton's and Alonso's cars - McLaren could be in deep doo-doo.
Bernie Ecclestone has said that only the team will be punished if McLaren is found guilty, meaning Hamilton will keep his drivers points and championship lead. I, for one, can't see Ferrari settling for that, especially if Lewis wins the drivers title...
