Things are not as they SEMA

The massive automotive genetic experiment that is the annual SEMA Show has cranked into life again in Las Vegas. And this year it's bigger and badder than ever before.
Boasting more than four million square feet of mind-altering and lifestyle challenging exhibits, what started as a relatively humble tuner parts show has become one of the most important and interesting shows on the planet.
Showcasing the great and the good products from the humblest of widget makers through to the creators of million-dollar gold and diamond-encrusted wheels, the 2007 SEMA Show also features acres of bespoke bodywork.
Forget Tokyo - all the really interesting concept cars are here in Vegas now.
Take the Suzuki SXForce for starters. Mixing a Hayabusa superbike with a shopping car, the company has created one of the most appealingy lunatic cars I've ever seen.
Not going to go into too much detail here, but you'll get what I mean when I tell you it has handlebars instead of a steering wheel - just look at the photo to see what I mean - and a 250bhp turbocharged engine. Mad. Completely mad.
But perhaps not as mad as the V8-engined Isetta Bubble Car. Or the Gallardo-engined Mustang. Or the guy who built an entirely new 'vintage' model of Alfa Romeo himself in his garage, on his own.
I could go on, but I won't now as I want to get around and see what else there is here before it closes. We will post some pictures and more details soon, and there will be a full report in the next magazine.
If I can ever find my way out of here.
