Ferrari California: Top that

Posted by Sam Philip at 5:50PM on Tuesday 13 May, 2008 2 Comments

Ferrari CaliforniaAmidst all the frenzied arguing over the California's styling, just a quick thought: why haven't we seen it with the roof up yet?

What dread horrors lurk therein? What colour is it? Is it even more bizarre than the flip-over glass thingy on the Superamerica?

We think you know.

Get your Photoshop out and show us what the California looks like with the roof up. Marks will be awarded for creativity, not professionalism.

Email tgweb@bbc.co.uk with the subject line 'Top That!' and we might even publish the best ones. Do your worst.

  • What I can tell you without Photoshop or MS Paint or whatever is that it will comprise mostly of glass, because the red metal part of the A-Pillars doesn't outline the top of the windscreen, suggesting that they carry on backwards instead. Think 997 Targa.

  • Folding metal roof... We need to remember that Ferraris are Italian AND hand-built, and when those two come together, electricity is a theory, not a known fact. So that roof may never raise for all we know. But who's complaining? It looks brilliant.
